Es de sobra conocido, el cuento de los dos hombrecitos y los dos ratones en el laberinto. Las lecciones sobre el temor al cambio concluyen con la idea: el cambio es inevitable, el cambio ya está ocurriendo. Todo es cuestión de decidir si vas a esperar al cambio echado sobre tu espalda e ignorándolo o si vas a oler el queso cada día y calcular su cantidad, para partir en busca de nuevas soluciones cuando aún quede queso.
Muchos cubanos hemos crecido en la idea de que el queso viene del "Estado" (en su función de cielo) y ahora, que el queso huele mal, escasea y se ha vuelto poco accesible, nos quejamos, pedimos humildemente que nos lo devuelvan, pero del bueno y seguimos esperando el fluir del queso. Todo fluye, ¿no?
No creo que seamos orgánicamente incapaces de salir al laberinto. El queso nunca fue tan abundante y su calidad era bien pobre. Con frecuencia había que "luchar" bastante para obtenerlo. Si sobrevivimos en esas condiciones, ¿A qué le vamos a temer ahora? ¿Al cambio?
El cambio es un hecho. Cambiamos, amor. Nos desesperamos cambiando. Tememos al temor de otros. Otros que, al temer, muerden. O ladran con fuerza. Allá ellos. Nosotros queremos conocer el laberinto. Es inevitable que lo hagamos.
